Baumit External Wall Insulation System

The Baumit 60 External Wall Insulation System is a certified external insulation solution designed for new and existing concrete or masonry buildings up to six storeys in height. Manufactured by w&p Baustoffe GmbH in Austria and distributed in Ireland through Grafton Merchanting ROI, this system offers long-term energy efficiency and weather protection in compliance with the Irish Building Regulations (1997–2013).

The system combines multiple layers of performance materials — including adhesive and mechanical fixings, high-quality insulation boards (EPS, XPS, mineral wool, or phenolic), reinforced cementitious base coats, and a choice of decorative silicone or acrylic finishes. Together, these layers create a durable, breathable, and thermally efficient envelope.

Use:

  • External insulation for new and existing masonry or concrete buildings (max 6 storeys / 18 m).

  • Not approved for timber or steel frame structures.

System Components:

  • Adhesive and/or mechanical fixings

  • Insulation boards (EPS, XPS, Mineral Wool, Phenolic)

  • Cementitious base coat with glass-fibre mesh

  • Primer and decorative synthetic or cementitious finish coat

  • Fire stops, weather- and movement-joint provisions
