SEMPRE TERM External Wall Insulation System
The SEMPRE TERM External Wall Insulation (EWI) System, produced by SEMPRE Sp. z o.o. (Poland) and distributed in Ireland by Advanced Profiles Ltd (County Meath), is a high-performance thermal insulation and façade solution designed to meet modern Irish and European energy-efficiency standards.
Certified under NSAI Agrément Certificate No. 18/0400 (2025), the system ensures long-term performance, safety, and compliance with the Irish Building Regulations (1997–2019).
Use
The SEMPRE TERM System is suitable for:
New and existing masonry or concrete buildings, both residential and commercial
Low-rise and mid-rise buildings up to six storeys (18 m)
Refurbishment or energy-upgrade projects under SEAI / retrofit schemes
Not assessed for timber- or steel-frame structures
It delivers superior insulation, moisture protection, and a durable decorative façade finish tailored for Ireland’s climate.
System Components
Each SEMPRE TERM system is a complete, integrated build-up comprising:
Adhesive / Basecoat: SEMPRE Term ST (cementitious) or WK-L (polymer-modified) adhesive mortar
Insulation Boards:
EPS 70 (expanded polystyrene)
Graphite EPS (enhanced thermal performance)
Mineral Wool (non-combustible façade insulation)
Mechanical Fixings: ETA-approved anchors with plastic or metal expansion pins, stainless-steel fixings above two storeys
Reinforcement Layer: Glass-fibre mesh (≥160 g/m²) embedded in SEMPRE basecoat
Primer: SEMPRE Grund / Kontakt primer to regulate absorption and improve adhesion
Finish Coats: Wide range of silicone, silicate, acrylic, or mineral decorative renders (grain sizes 1–3 mm)
Ancillaries: Base tracks, corner beads, drip profiles, movement joints, and lamella fire barriers
This composition creates a strong, breathable façade with excellent thermal and weather resistance.
Compliance
The system meets the following Irish Building Regulations:
Part D – Materials & Workmanship: Certified as “proper materials” under NSAI Agrément.
Part A – Structure: Adequate strength and resistance to imposed and wind loads.
Part B – Fire Safety:
EPS: Class B-s2,d0
Mineral Wool: Class A2-s1,d0 (non-combustible)
Part C – Resistance to Moisture: Fully weather-tight façade with vapor permeability.
Part L – Conservation of Fuel & Energy: Achieves and exceeds required U-values for BER and retrofit targets.
Fixings (Typical)
EPS / Graphite EPS: 6–8 fixings / m²
Mineral Wool: 8–12 fixings / m²
ETA-approved anchors according to substrate pull-out test results.
Additional stainless-steel fixings for fire zones or per project design.
Thermal Performance
Declared thermal conductivities (λ90/90):
EPS 70: 0.038 W/mK
Graphite EPS: 0.031 W/mK
Mineral Wool: 0.036 W/mK
Typical wall U-values:
Retrofit: 0.27 W/m²K
New build: 0.21 W/m²K
Enhanced (Graphite EPS): as low as 0.15 W/m²K
Fire Safety
Mineral Wool systems achieve A2-s1,d0 — non-combustible and suitable for buildings up to 18 m.
EPS systems include horizontal mineral-wool lamella fire barriers at compartment floors and wall junctions.
Stainless-steel fire fixings installed at a minimum of 1 per m² above two storeys.
Installation
Installation must be performed by NSAI-approved SEMPRE installers trained by Advanced Profiles Ltd.
Pre-installation checks include substrate preparation, wind-load analysis, pull-out testing, and thermal-bridge assessment.
Apply system components only in ambient temperatures between +5 °C and +25 °C and protect from rain, frost, or direct sunlight during curing.
Lamella fire stops and mechanical fixings installed per system design documentation.
Upon completion, a homeowner / building manual and warranty certificate are issued.
